What is The Green House Effect. Our planet, Earth, as far as evidence indicates the only planet in our solar system or in the whole Universe that supports life. Because of its unique place in the solar system, earth has been able to give a safe home to life.

Earth is neither too close to the Sun and not too far a way. Due to this unique place in solar system, the earth has been able to give a safe home to life. The situated away from sun preventing it become a hot place for life. There was the possibility that it may have been freezing cold for live, but the greenhouse gases keeping our planet in perfect temperature for living thing.

People have started using glass houses to grow plants in winter in the last couple of decades and these known as greenhouses. Typically, the heat from the sun will be trapped in these houses. The glasses in the greenhouse let the sun light through and also prevent the heat from escaping. Because of that, in the winter the greenhouse heats up to keep the plants alive. The greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of earth work like this glass and prevent the heat from escaping. The sunlight enters piercing through the greenhouse gases and when it reaches the surface of Earth surface, it is absorbed by water, air and land.

Greenhouse gases in earth’s atmosphere absorb and emit radiation to keep our planet warmer. The sun emits light that reaches our planet’s atmosphere. The long wave radiations emitted by Sun are absorbed by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This will make atmosphere become warmer, then these long wave radiations are emitted both downward and upward. The greenhouse effect is the downward emission of radiation by atmosphere. This mechanism is that warmth is isolated inside so that there is no heat lost.

The major of greenhouse gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone. The other greenhouse gases such as hydro fluorocarbons, per fluorocarbons, sulfur hexafluoride, chlorofluorocarbons and nitrous oxide present in smaller quantities in the atmosphere. 

The increase quantity of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are produced by human activity causes the global warming. The global warming phenomenon will rise earth temperature gradually and potentially hazardous to all kind of life and major cause for rapid melting of glacier which cause increase of sea level.

Some people are aware of this phenomenon, but another people get involved into activities which can disturb the balance of atmospheric like polluting the air, water and other resources, deforestation to cause harm to our peaceful environment. The important thing is to make people understand, aware about the bad effect and act together to save our planet for the better life.

Although many people are aware of this phenomenon, there are plenty of them who act as though they are not aware of the depleting earth’s atmosphere. Thus they get involved into those practices which can disturb the balance of atmospheric. Some of the deeds include polluting the water, air and other resources, deforestation, using electronic good known to cause harm to the environment and so on.
