Global Warming Effects

Global Warming Effects. Global warming has caused changes in ocean current flow, temperature, ecosystem, sea level, economy, industry, agriculture, settlements and related to all these - the living and health. Some evidences of global warming that has negative effects on human health are:

  • It increases and alters the vectors distribution of infectious diseases.
  • Heat wave as a result of global warming causing deaths.
  • Global warming has been change the seasonal distribution of few species of allergenic pollen.
  • Various extreme conditions of global warming like heat and cold wave, droughts, flood, storm, fire will increase the death tolls as well as diseases and injuries.
  • Disordered and malnutrition development of children.
  • Also, it will cause increase of diarrhea, malaria, cholera, encephalitis, dengue and other diseases.
  • The rate of mortality will increase because of ground level ozone related diseases as well as high cardio respiratory morbidity.

Generally, global warming will affect human health with rising infectious diseases and with extreme weather condition.

IPCC in a study of global warming affected area of Illinois, Chicago, has provided a worried report that by 2020 serious climate condition like heat wave will increase the climate average deaths to 400 and to 497 by 2050 from 191 at the present average. An example of its severity is European heat wave of 2003. It will even cause cardio respiratory complications resulting to high rate of dying.

The results of ill health due to infectious diseases and climate change are already evident. As well as many tropical countries, Houston are experiencing frequent outbreak of dengue, malaria and any encephalitis diseases. Even colder regions like New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Queens are severely suffering from malaria since 1990 as a result of global warming. In 1995, McAllen of Texas also suffered a dengue epidemic. Since 1987, New Orleans, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Mississippi, and California - all are experiencing encephalitis epidemic for global warming. According to IPCC, in near future, 65% of world population will suffer from high risk of infectious diseases.

Facing such an impending great disaster due to climate change, the requirement of correct planning and organized adaptation to new and changing situation has received a new dimension. Along with basic and urgent adaptation practices to fight the immediate effects, an elaborate gradual methodology and longer planning are also necessary to address the severity of future conditions resulted from this.

Today, governments all around the world concern about the negative effects of global warming. It is predicted that the earth's temperature will rise continually, and if stringent steps are not taken to stop it right from now there will be much worse in the future.

Global warming may cause melt down of glaciers thereby making the levels of the sea level to rise. If this is not checked, then cities along the coasts will be the worst affected and it would lead to floods. These effects are increasing day by day and predicted that in the next 30 years many cities would get submerged under the seas.

In the last few years the average of earth’s temperature has also increased due to the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which are not allowing the sun's heat to escape from the atmosphere.
